PLF is a Los Angeles-based entertainment law firm that represents creators throughout the lifecycle of their projects, from development and finance through production and distribution. Founder and managing attorney James Pacitti has helped filmmakers and other content creators for over twenty years. Our recent work includes high-profile projects such as Cheech and Chong’s Last Movie, produced and directed by David Bushell (Get Him to the Greek, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Follow Me starring Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, Wonder Woman), and Undercard, marking Wanda Sykes's dramatic debut. Past projects include The Modelizer (Byron Mann, Julia Nickson), Pizza With Bullets (Talia Shire, Vincent Pastore), and A Warrior’s Heart (Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene), among numerous others.
James and the PLF team have worked on projects spanning the globe, including China, Colombia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and across Europe and the United States. PLF recently assisted one of its film production company clients in developing, financing, producing, and distributing six feature films shot in three countries over two years.

OUR FOUNDER & MANAGING ATTORNEY
For over 30 years, James D. Pacitti has represented thousands of clients in entertainment, intellectual property, business law, and litigation in both state and federal courts.
A graduate of Fordham University School of Law (1995) and Northeastern University (cum laude, 1992), James is licensed to practice in California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He began his career in Philadelphia, later led a litigation section at one of the largest law firms in Florida, and in 2007 established his own Los Angeles practice focused on entertainment and business law.
Since relocating to California, James has advised hundreds of filmmakers, producers, and production companies worldwide on development, financing, production, and distribution.
